Welcome to Round 12 of Canberra Raiders Cup, a Saturday afternoon full of solid wins and straight up ‘laying on the points’ type of games.
Bushies Comeback Win
The Bushies kept their winning ways going with a solid comeback win against the Rams to kick off Round 12.
The Bushies were trailing for the majority of the match; however winger Lachlan Davis put in a strong performance, scoring two tries in the second half to give the Bushies the edge, thirty points to twenty-six.
Blues Dominant at Seiffert
Over the border, the Blues returned from their bye with a dominant win against the Sharks at Seiffert Oval, forty-six points to four.
The Blues were strong the entire match, but five-eighth Jayden McLachlan and middle Jack Anderson were the stars, going over for two tries each.
The Sharks now sit in seventh position with five losses.
Kangaroos Win on the Road
It was the round of Queanbeyan dominance with the Kangaroos piling on the points against the Magpies at Walker Park, fifty six to four.
It was a full team effort; however, the outside backs for the Roos proved too good against the weaker Magpies' defence.
It has been a rough season for the Magpies, who now sit at the bottom once again going into Round 13.
Bulls Win in Goulburn
The Bulls are back in the winner's circle with a well-deserved win against the Bulldogs, prevailing twenty two points to ten in Goulburn.
This is now Gungahlin’s fourth win for the season with the side now sitting in fifth position thanks to contributions from winger Earldric Pehara, and second-rower Apenisa Driti. However, for Goulburn, they now have zero wins from their last six matches and now sit in eighth position.
Looking towards Round 13, we have no out-of-town games on Saturday but all must-see matches:
The Bulls will be hosting the Magpies in Gungahlin as they aim for back-to-back wins
The Sharks will host the Bushies in Bruce with the Sharks looking to bounce back from their loss against the Blues, however, the Bushies are hoping to keep their winning ways going into this round
The Rams host top-of-the-table Roos in Phillip in a must see clash
We welcome back the Warriors from their Round 12 bye with the 2nd/3rd position clash against the Blues at Raiders Belconnen
The Bulldogs have a much-needed bye going in Round 13 and we will welcome back in Round 14 against the Sharks
