Round 6 of the Isuzu UTE A-League brought shocks, tight contests, and a shift near the top of the ladder. Brisbane Roar moved into second place, reigning premiers Auckland FC suffered their first defeat, and Perth Glory continued their resurgence with a convincing win.

Roar Go Second with Narrow Win

Brisbane Roar edged Melbourne Victory 1-0 to move into second on the ladder. The Roar’s tight victory reflects their growing consistency under Michael Valkanis and keeps the side firmly in early-season contention.

Phoenix Edge Adelaide in Thriller

Wellington Phoenix came from behind to claim a 2-1 win over Adelaide United. The result adds to the Phoenix’s impressive home form and leaves Adelaide reflecting on consecutive setbacks after a promising start to the season.

Mariners Hold Champions

Central Coast Mariners earned a point in a 0-0 draw against reigning champions Melbourne City in Gosford. City, who were playing their third game in a week, were praised by Aurelio Vidmar for their effort, though the Mariners’ defensive resilience ensured the points were shared.

Wanderers End Sydney’s Run

Western Sydney Wanderers continued their climb up the table with a 1-0 win over Sydney FC. The result halts Sydney’s momentum and underscores the competitive nature of the league this season.

Jets Upset Auckland

Newcastle Jets handed reigning premiers Auckland FC their first defeat of the 2025-26 campaign, winning 2-1 in “horrendous” conditions at Go Media Stadium. The victory snaps a three-game losing streak for Newcastle and shakes up the top of the ladder.

Perth Glory Continue Resurgence

Perth Glory recorded a 2-0 win over Macarthur Bulls, securing back-to-back victories and moving off the bottom of the ladder. The win gives Perth confidence as they continue to search for stability and form early in the season.
