Canberra Raiders Cup Wrap: Washout Round Edition

Mikayla Kerin

Welcome back to the Canberra Raiders Cup Wrap. This week is the Washout Round edition, where Round 7 back in May was rescheduled to last weekend due to severe wet weather. These games still count towards the overall ladder and competition.

Bushies go Ten Straight

The Bushies have booked their spot in the 2025 finals campaign with a big win against the Magpies, sixty-two points to twelve

It was nothing but dominance from Tuggeranong; winger Lachie Davis shone by scoring five tries, which sees him soar to the top of the try scorers list

Meanwhile the loss sees the Magpies finish last for the 2025 season.

Rams fall Short

The Rams secured an encouraging win against the Sharks fourty six points to fourteen.

The Rams fought hard with second rower Michael Geiger crossing for two tries.

Even though this was a huge win from the Rams, they just fell short of making into finals for the 2025 season with them finishing in fifth for the season.

North-side Draw

We had the Warriors and Bulls face off in a north-side clash which resulted in a twenty-points-all draw

Warriors winger, Brandon Withers crossed over for two tries in the match however, that wasn’t the only thing to celebrate in this game with Warriors captain and coach, Ryan Mcqueen celebrating his 150th first grade game so massive congratulations to him!

Meanwhile, for the Bulls, this ends their 2025 season placing them sixth.

Roos Minor Premiers Three Years Straight

The Roos have secured the minor premiership for the third straight year with a tight six point win against the Bulldogs twenty two points to sixteen

It was a classic ‘Roos’ performance from the side who are looking to win the Canberra Raiders Cup for the third year running.

However, for the Bulldogs, this loss closes their 2025 season off placing them in eighth position.

Finals Teams:

  1. Queanbeyan Roos

  2. Queanbeyan Blues

  3. West Belco Warriors

  4. Tuggeranong Bushies

Looking into this weekend, we have two stacked finals:

  • It will be a Queanbeyan derby for the major semi final with the Roos and Blues facing off in Roos home territory on Saturday afternoon.

  • Across town, we will see the Warriors and Bushies face off at Raiders Belconnen on Sunday for the elimination final with both teams fighting to make it to the preliminary final next week.
