Caboolture FC continued their strong start to the 2026 FQPL1 campaign with a 3-1 victory over Robina City on Saturday night, securing back-to-back wins to open the season and reinforcing early signs of a genuine promotion push.

The contest began as a tense, tightly contested affair. Robina, fresh off their own emphatic opening-round win, proved organised and disciplined, ensuring chances were limited throughout the first half. Caboolture controlled territory in spells but were made to work for every opening, with the sides heading into the break locked at 0-0.

The breakthrough finally arrived nine minutes after the restart. In the 54th minute, Nathan Beagley rose to the occasion, finding the net to give the Snakes a deserved lead. The goal shifted the momentum of the match, opening up space and forcing Robina to chase the game.

A second goal followed in the 66th minute, providing breathing room, before a third in the 79th effectively put the contest to bed. While Robina did manage to pull one back in the 86th minute, it proved nothing more than a late consolation as the Snakes comfortably saw out the remaining minutes to secure a 3-1 final scoreline.

The result is an encouraging one. Robina entered the division on the back of an unbeaten promotion season and a 4-0 opening-round victory, so this was a meaningful early-season test. Caboolture not only passed it, but did so with control and maturity, patient when required, clinical when opportunities arose.

Two matches, six points. Just as importantly, the performances have shown composure and consistency: precisely the qualities that were missing during last season’s costly slump. If the Snakes are serious about turning last year’s potential into sustained promotion contention, these are exactly the types of fixtures they must navigate successfully.
